Daily Paragraph

So far i have done research, and i know what we are going to do. Marcelo and Me are going to create a video for Digital Health And Wellness. It will be mostly pictures, us talking, sayings on the sides. We need to create Gant chart so that we could get everything done in time.

PSA

Public Service Announcement
Public Service Announcements (PSA’s) educate people about issues that people have to deal with in life. PSA’s give people information about issues so they can think about them and take positive actions. You will produce your own PSA, lasting 20 to 30 seconds. Your PSA must deliver a short but strong message about any Digital Citizenship Topic, one of the nine.

You have just been hired by channel 5 news. Your first job is to make a public service announcement. Come up with a topic and research your idea. You must then create a storyboard that is clear and explains exactly what is going to be in your public service announcement. When you are finished your storyboard you must have it approved by the manger of the station Mrs. Hinojosa. Once she clears you, you may start creating your video using iMovie. Make sure your introduction motivates and hooks the viewer from the beginning of the video and keep his/her attention to the end. Read below for some tips.
* Your public service announcement should...
1.You must write down where your pictures came from on your assignment paper in the space provided for you. As soon as you take a picture off the internet write where it came from, do not wait until your project is done.  Copyrighted information for photos, graphics and music must be clearly identified by source.
2.The introduction needs to motivate and hook the viewer from the beginning of the video and keep his/her attention to the end.
3.Please complete the rough draft story board first and while you create your computer project fill out the final story board.
4.The PSA must move smoothly from shot to shot and be edited with high quality shots.
5.Background audio must be kept low and not overpower the primary audio, please make sure it goes along with your project information.
6.The content of the service announcement needs to include a clear statement or theme and it must be creative and compelling to the audience.
7.All scenes must have sufficient lighting for viewer to easily see the project. • All shots must be clearly focused and well framed.
8.The graphics, sound and or animation must assist in presenting an overall theme that appeals to the audience and enhances your service announcement with a high impact message.
9.Graphics, fonts, special effects, and sound must be clear and big enough to read. They must explain and reinforce key points during the presentation. All text must be held on the screen long enough for it to be read.
10. All video clips should fit the story line. Clips should not be too long or to short.
You must tell me where all pictures you took off
the internet came from. DO NOT say they came from Google or any search engine! You must write down the exact address they came from!

Reflection

I think i deserve a good grade because i have investigated what i needed to look for. I have worked hard and tried to finish every post on the blog. I am missing one post out of all the ones you have made us do. My blog posts answers all questions you have asked us to do. They are not only answered, but also have all the information needed for my Design Cycle project for the 6th graders.

Design Brief

10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
I will be making Go Animate, a short clip showing all the four steps of the design cycle. This will be to teach the concept to a 6th grader to see if he can understand the Design Cycle.
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
Im going to have like sketches of what I'm going to do in the short clip in Go Animate. I'm going to need more sounds.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
A limitation for this is that we only come to class every other day so it takes time away of us in working on the product.
13. How will you "test" your project?
I will play it for 6th graders, then give them a survey to see if they understood what the Design Cycle is.

Investigation Comparison- Go Animate!

Go Animate!

Simplicity: The simplicity factor was terrific in Go animate. I think that with Go Animate it would be really effective to get the Design cycle stuck in a young ones head. The product would be simple so it would be easier for the audience to understand and have a little laugh while they watch. It is really organized in Go animate. It is a fun way to show the Design Cycle.

Theme Choices: Go Animate has a lot of themes. Different backgrounds of games, comedies, different places in the world. It is going to be great and entertaining for the audience. If it is entertaining i will get my point across them quicker, and in a fun way. If it has more themes it is easier and if its easier to use its faster and better.

Characters: The program has different characters. there is a lot to chose from. they have different characters from video games and comedies. They will be a great way to make a 6th grader understand what I'm trying to do, which is get them to understand what the design cycle is. This is going to be easy and fun at the same time. It would be great to make it and great to watch it.

Sound Choices: Go Animate doesn't have a lot of sound options. Meaning their voices are kinda weird. they don't have a lot of vocal. They have a british accent and then they have the "normal" english in male and female for every language. Kinda cool, but I'm going to need more voices to work with.

Investigation Comparison-Flipbook!

Flipbook!

Simplicity: This factor is essential to my project since i have to make it fun and interesting at the same time so they could understand the Design Cycle. The Flip-book is a great way to make the 6th graders understand the point I'm trying to get threw them, so they can understand the design cycle better. The Flip-book is kinda difficult to use, since you have to actually create everything over and over againg with a mouse. Not a good idea at all.

Theme Choices: The flip-book didn't really have any theme choices; it was just white and you had to create everything by yourself. If i don't have any theme choices, its going to be very difficult for me to get the point I'm going to try to get to the 6th graders

Characters: there wasn't any characters in flip book. You create your own characters with stick figures. Like i said, no choices less chance I'm going to have for the 6th graders understand the design cycle.  The only reason i gave it a 5 was because you get to create it completely.

Sound Choices: The Flip-book had NO sounds at all. Without music or any sound it wont be interesting or entertaining to the public in this case the 6th graders. It will be really hard to keep a 6th grader focused on the flip-book if it wont be interesting. I would have to put background music or sounds to help the flip book be interesting.

Comparing " Go Animate" and "Flipbook"

http://goanimate.com/

http://www.benettonplay.com/toys/flipbookdeluxe/index.php

They are both really great. Both are entertaining for  six grades. I could make them funny so that they could understand what the design cycle really is.  Both of them will give the same great product. They both look entertaining, although the Go Animate will be easier because its really hard to draw a flipbook with a mouse. i tried both of them already, but i liked the go animate better. The go animate has a lot of great tools    that help you and makes it easier for it to be fun and easy for us the creators to make.
I have decided to use the go animate!
